The SWIFT project—Supporting Women-led Innovations in Farming and Rural Territories—is reimagining sustainable rural development through the leadership of women and diverse farmers. This EU Horizon-funded initiative connects grassroots innovations across Europe to advance gender equality, food sovereignty, and climate resilience.

Our Inception Workshop, held in Agres, Spain, brought together community leaders, researchers, and activists for three days of exchange and co-creation. Guided by feminist facilitation, the workshop set the foundations for collaborative research, policy advocacy, and mutual learning around agroecology, land access, social protection, and more.

The workshop report captures the energy and insights of this gathering and outlines SWIFT’s collective vision: to amplify women-led innovation, build transnational networks, and shape inclusive, just food systems from the ground up.
