ViViD Project: Network Viability, Visibility and LiVeability

Network Viability, Visibility, and Liveability
ViViD is a dynamic Erasmus+ project equipping citizen-led food networks with the tools, skills, and visibility they need to thrive—boosting resilience, impact, and inclusivity through cutting-edge training, peer learning, and digital innovation to power the future of fair, sustainable food in Europe

Network Viability
A viable food network balances economic, social, and structural resilience. It thrives on clear purpose, shared resources, ethical governance, and sustained motivation—ensuring long-term impact, healthy communities, and inclusive, strategic growth.

Network Visibility
A visible network seen, heard, and felt. It’s how networks share values, tell stories, and engage the public. Through creative communications, presence at events, and strategic messaging, LSPAs build recognition, inspire action, and shift narratives around sustainable food.

Network LiVeability
Liveability is the human heartbeat of a network—care, inclusion, and well-being. It ensures spaces where diverse voices matter, time and emotional labor are valued, and collective governance nurtures motivation, safety, and joy in shared work.
Self-Assessment Toolkit
The ViVid Self-Assessment Toolkit supports local food networks in becoming more Viable, Visible, and Liveable. It offers a practical self-assessment toolkit to help CSA and LSPA networks reflect on their strengths and challenges, improve internal processes, and better serve their members. Built from real experiences across Europe, the toolkit includes resources, a Best Practice Guide, a Self-Assessment Survey, and guidance to foster well-being, strategic communication, and sustainable growth. It’s not just a checklist—it’s a roadmap for thriving, connected, and caring food communities.

Best Practice Guide
This guide showcases proven strategies from CSA and LSPA networks across Europe. It offers real-world examples, practical tools, and step-by-step methods to strengthen Viability, Visibility, and Liveability—helping networks grow sustainably, communicate effectively, and care for their members and communities.

Self-Assessment Survey
This reflective survey helps LSPA and CSA networks evaluate their Viability, Visibility, and Liveability. The survey invites teams to assess strategic, economic, and social dimensions—identifying strengths, challenges, and areas for growth to support more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient food systems.
